How to use the calculator
The calculator starts with all players handicaps set to 0 and the standard game lengths.
Touch the handicap boxes to enter the respective players handicaps. Select the game type and length using the selectors. All inputs automatically trigger a full recalculation.
For golf croquet handicap doubles matches the handicap pairings indicator is an "=" when the first players on each team are paired together and a "X" otherwise. If an optional pairing swap is available the pairing indicator turns green and touching it will swap the pairings and redo the extra turns calculations.
Note. Some pairings swaps will not result in any change to the allocated extra turns but pairing swaps are nevertheless made available as they fall within the Golf Croquet Rules, ie when both the players on a team are of equal handicap and both are in receipt of extra turns are the same. A
If a mandatory 1/2 extra turn reduction has to be made, the extra turns are shown in red and one of them must be selected to have the 1/3 extra turn reduction applied and so complete the calculation. The adjacent repeat button will then turn green to indicate that pressing it will restart the calculation so a different choice may be made.
When the winner of a singles game is known, select the player on the selector to determine the changes in handicap index points for both players.
